Chulkyung Jung, CEO of Silver Star Chemical Co., Ltd., located in Sangdong-myeon, Gimhae, has been awarded the “Proud Gimhae CEO Award” for April by the city of Gimhae.
Since its establishment in 2006, Silver Star Chemical has specialized in the production of polyamide adhesives and pigments, demonstrating unrivaled technological expertise in the eco-friendly polyamide hot melt adhesive sector.
Through strategic R&D initiatives, the company successfully localized the production of polyamide hot melt adhesives, which were previously dependent on imports. By making aggressive investments in production facilities, Silver Star Chemical expanded its production capacity from 10MT in 2011 to 2,000MT in 2022. This growth enabled the company to reverse-export products that had once relied on imports from Germany and Japan, significantly strengthening its global competitiveness.
Recognizing these achievements, Silver Star Chemical received the INNO-BIZ (Technology Innovation SME) certification in 2012, was selected as a Gyeongnam Star Company in 2019, and was awarded the Gyeongnam SME Award for Technological Innovation in 2022. The company has made substantial contributions to stabilizing the adhesive supply chain and advancing the domestic fine chemical industry.
Additionally, Silver Star Chemical has developed products using plant-based raw materials that enable natural biodegradation and recycling, while actively participating in environmental protection initiatives. In recognition of these efforts, the company was designated a "Love the Earth Business Site" in 2018 and received the Green Energy Excellence Award in 2021.
